Frequently asked questions
What do I wear?
Every person is different and every body is unique, so it’s hard to give an exact formula of what to wear. Lingerie is the "go-to" for boudoir, but it is not necessary! If lingerie isn't your thing, grab your favorite sweater, a t-shirt and shorts or underwear, a robe, a strappy bralette and a cheeky pair of bottoms, etc. As long as you feel confident and comfortable, that's all that matters. Or if you want to sport your birthday suit, do you boo. The only thing I would steer away from are items with excessive writing on them or loud graphics. If you have something like that that you’d like to wear, bring it as an option and we can see if it will work! Check out my Pinterest board for inspiration.
What if I’ve never done boudoir before?
Every single one of my clients so far had never had a boudoir session before. I know how to coach you every step of the way. I will walk you through every pose to make it feel natural, and teach you how to get the best facial expressions. I’ll make sure every hair is in place (or perfectly out of place), no straps are twisted, that ya booty is poppin’, and that you look amazing in general.
Will anyone else see this pictures? Will they be posted online?
Unless you sign a legal document saying that I can post them, they will remain completely private. They will not be on my website or any social media unless you say it is okay.
I’m giving these images to my partner as a gift. Can I incorporate things they like/things of theirs? Their guitar, item of clothing, their work uniform, etc.?
Of course! Let me know in advance so I can plan on the best ways to incorporate the item(s) into your session.
Can I see the makeup artist’s work?
YES. She’s amazing. instagram.com/jtvbeauty
Will anyone else be there while my session is taking place? How private will my session be?
Yes, there will be people downstairs (hair and makeup artists, next client, possibly owner of the home who is a woman), but your session will be held in a private room upstairs. No one else will be in there other than you and me. If you’d like to use the bathroom with the floral walls, you will have to walk downstairs, but I will have a robe you can wear in between if you’d like.
How will you make me feel comfortable, natural, and sexy during the session?
I will be your cheerleader, coach, and teammate through the entire process (not sure why I’m using sports metaphors because I know nothing about sports, but hey, it works). I will hype you up, tell you when you are absolutely slaying, let you know when and how to make any necessary adjustments, and will listen to and handle your concerns with patience and understanding. This is probably all new territory for you, so I’m here to lead the way. If there’s anything I can do to make you even more comfortable, please let me know before your session or during.
Could I bring my partner and we do a couple’s boudoir session?
Yes, of course! I love love and I would love to capture the little moments of your relationship that usually don’t get as much attention as the big moments. If your partner would also like hair and makeup done, there will be additional fees. Please let me know in advance if you’d like to include them.
If I want to do my own hair and makeup, can I get a discount?
